The Annapolis Royal Conker Club began in 2012 after a small group of local enthusiasts determined to reintroduce the recreation as part of the community’s calendar of activities and events.
Following several impromptu conversations and emails, the Inaugural Conker Championship was held on Saturday October 20th 2012 at the Historical Gardens (http://historicgardens.com/) in the town of Annapolis Royal (http://www.annapolisroyal.com/), Nova Scotia, Canada. Conkers collected from local trees and graded to meet the size requirements of minimum diameter 1 ½” were used.

This was an Open competition for all comers of both sexes and all ages. It attracted a modest field of competitors who played a series of knockout matches leading to the Grand Final. The eventual victor was Jeff Hafting, who was awarded the prestigious Crofton Chalice .

We hope and expect our Conker Club will grow over the coming years to become the international destination of choice for conker enthusiasts. As such we are establishing our competition as the North American Conker Championship.
